The practice owner, Amadia van Heerden, qualified at Rand Afrikaans University in 2003 with a BSC (OPTOM) degree. Viscare was started in Centurion in 2006.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Viscare provides a wide range of eye examinations. Having your eyes tested regularly can also result in early detection of a severe health risk. Our treatments are patient based and we try and give each patient only the best in eye care.
Contact Lens Consultation
With an eye health assessment, we can determine if you should wear Contact Lenses. Once we have completed this process, you will be fitted, and the particular types of lenses will be discussed to decide the best option for your lifestyle.
Glaucoma Testing
It is very important that you protect your vision from damage caused by glaucoma with regular and complete eye tests. A Comprehensive Glaucoma Exam includes the testing of 5 factors before making a diagnosis.
Myopia Control
Myopia is corrected with glasses, contacts or in some cases surgery. It’s more common in children but it can increase your chances of other problems later down the line, like cataract, glaucoma and retinal detachment.
Frame And Spectacle Adjustments And Repairs
We can assist you with having your frames adjusted or repaired. Our skilled opticians can adjust the bridge, nose pads and temples to ensure the proper fit to your face.
Drivers Licence Screening
Viscare can save your time at the Traffic Department as we do Drivers Licence Screening. Please bring a valid Identification Document (ID) along with you. Your screening will be done in cooperation with the National Department of Transport to ensure acceptance.

Diabetic Retinopathy Screening
If you are diabetic it is very important that you have your eyes tested and screened regularly. Eye problems caused by diabetes are called diabetic retinopathy. This can lead to sight loss if it’s not detected early. This type of screening can find problems before they affect your sight permanently.
